This will be a tough one! I would like to see a team-style mascot logo design based on a Gorilla head (Do it for Harambe!).
This challenge will really test your ability to effectively capture the shape and aesthetic of a Gorilla, but also do so in a minimalistic and iconic manner.
Unfortunately this isn't stylized in the type of sense that a team would be proud to wear it on their jerseys! The "X"'d eye makes it seem sort of like they've been beaten up! Also needs to be more contrast. Thanks.
Not bad. It definitely feels more like a retro / 60's stylized version of a gorilla mascot! Thanks.
Sorry about the triple post, one was a double post and then I must of had some strange export settings so the colour was a little off.
Fixed it now. Sorry again :P
This has a lot of potential, but the contrast is killing it! I can't see a lot of the detail in there! The middle color should have been much lighter. Thanks though.
Not really skilled at drawing animals, but still thought I'd give it a try, as a practice.
I would definitely get rid of the slight solid drop shadow on the brow line, not needed there. And in terms of general shapes, it seems a bit blocky. Thanks though!
COLOR VS. GREYSCALE
I am not really happy with it... But it's my second mascot and I have never done an animal mascot before so... :D
If you like you can check me out on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHLC2f_FkJHIeIF9HFOngDQ
I will show there how I have done it.
Solid entry. Just a couple small hiccups, like unnecessary detail near the right of the oval by the mouth. It's good though stylistically, and unique.
here is my entry , i've designed in photoshop no pixelation.
i hope you like it.
Unfortunately this doesn't quite look like a gorilla, as you pointed out! Thanks for trying, it does take practice for sure! You got a lot of other areas right though.
I tried to make a Gorilla, but it turned out to look more like a monkey or baboon... First Mascot ever and first time highlighting, think it looks alright.
Solid entry. A few of the strokes get very thin, like near the bottom, and I would avoid that due to scalability issues. Also, there seems to be a significant amount of general empty areas in the forehead region, and shoulders / chest area. I would have attempted to condense it just a bit.
Here is the png image of my Gorilla logo design, it took me around 2 hours to make :)
If you would like to check out the version with a background (it looks much better) or any other of my designs, please check out my website: http://dauntlessdesign.weebly.com/my-logos.html
It would be greatly appreciated.
