Challenge Description
Most of you have heard of Bitcoin, but there are over a thousand other cryptocurrencies out there!
For this challenge, you're tasked with designing just a symbol / icon / mark for a fictional cryptocurrency service. This service is simply one that will send users a notification (email, text message, instant message, etc..) when a given cryptocurrency rises or falls in price.
Think of it as a logo without any type (no wordmark).
Requirements
- Combine the ideas of currency (money) AND messaging into a single, simple symbol.
- Upload at least a 500x500px concept.
- Upload only one concept -- do not combine multiple concepts into the document you upload. One concept per person.
Submit with Good Design Principles in Mind
The whole purpose of these challenges is to get better at design. In this case, it's logo / icon design. There are a few design fundamentals that you should consider:
- Use good white space. This means giving your elements room to breathe.
- Use good color. This means using colors that are relevant to the subject and colors that compliment each other. Color can quickly clutter a design, so it's usually a good idea to limit your logo/icon colors.
- Use good contrast. If people can't see your basic shapes, or have a hard time seeing them because there's not enough contrast, then your logo/icon is ineffective.
- Use visual hierarchy. Some elements are more important than others. Size, position, and color all help establish visual hierarchy.
- Use simplicity. Avoid overusing effects like drop shadows, glows, outlines & strokes, etc.. Keep things simple.
Good luck.
