This video introduces the concept of inheritance in Java. It first shows what happens when you don’t use inheritance vs. what happens when you use it. Use the extends keyword in Java to indicate that your class is going to inherit properties and methods from another class. The class at the top in the inheritance hierarchy is called the base class or superclass whereas the class that uses the extends keyword is called the derived class or subclass. Java does not support multiple inheritance. Every class directly or indirectly extends from the Object class.
