Use an API to Build CryptoCurrency Apps (Angular, Vue and React Tutorial)

By Gary simon - Sep 28, 2017

With the emergence of the CryptoCurrency world comes new opportunities for developers to create apps. CryptoCompare offers a 100% free API that you can use to build these apps.

The three most popular modern javascript frameworks are currently Angular, React and Vue.js.

I wrote and recorded 3 tutorials that show you exactly how to use each of these frameworks to display data gathered from the CryptoCompare API.

This will allow you to get up and running quickly with your crypto project.

Each tutorial has a fully written guide along with a video that covers the same step. Each project is also available at an associated github repo.

The Vue.js Tutorial

Vue.js is an extremely light weight javascript framework that features a simple component structure consisting of a template, logic and styling. In this tutorial, I show you how to use Vue.js along with the Axios HTTP library to display CryptoCurrency data.

You can also watch the video tutorial below:

The React Tutorial

React is a javascript library for building user interfaces, and it's maintained by Facebook. It is perhaps the most popular of the big three Javascript frameworks, so it made sense to cover React.

Once again, you can watch the React tutorial below:

The Angular Tutorial

Angular is a powerful Javascript framework actively maintained by Google. Since Angular 2, Google has maintained very consistent and frequent upgrades to the platform.

You can watch the Angular tutorial here:

Get Coding!

Now that you have three tutorials that will show you exactly how to get started by interfacing with a free Crypto API, there's no excuse! The crypto scene is booming, don't miss the train!
